Birthplace of the Polish Pope – John Paul II. Tourists can visit the home of Karol Wojtyla, which has been turned into a biographic museum of the Pope. Nearby is situated the Church of the Offering of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There is also John Paul II Square with neo-classical buildings from the nineteenth-century. In 2006 a statue of the Polish Pope was set there.
John Paul II visited Wadowice three times, in 1979, 1991 and in 1999.
