Birthplace of the Polish Pope – John Paul II. Tourists can visit the home of Karol Wojtyla, which has been turned into a biographic museum of the Pope. Nearby is situated the Church of the Offering of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There is also John Paul II Square with neo-classical buildings from the nineteenth-century. In 2006 a statue of the Polish Pope was set there.John Paul II visited Wadowice three times, in 1979, 1991 and in 1999.
The Schindler Factory was founded in 1937 where employees produced enameled pots. In 1945 Factory was intercepted by Oskar Schindler. He employed Jewish people who were endangered extermination. These people were entered on the Schindler’s List and they saved from extinction. The Factory became the museum in 2010 and now it’s on the Lipowa 4 Street in Cracow.
