Polish winter capital. Zakopane is the largest city in the immediate neighbourhood of the Tatra Mountains and is an important destination for winter sports’ fans. Many sanatoriums, guesthouses, and a well developed hotel network make the city of Zakopane an attractive place for tourists. The main attraction are the Tatra Mountains, others include: the funicular to reach the Gubalowka mountain, Wielka Krokiew ski jump and the cableway to the Kasprowy Wierch mountain.
One of many attractions of the Pieniny Mountains National Park is rafting on the Dunajec River. It begins at the port of Sromowce and the final destination of the tour is the town of Szczawnica. The route is 18 kilometers long and the tour can last between two and three hours, depending on the water level. The season starts on the 1st of May and ends on the 31st of October. Everyone is delighted with the unforgettable view of Trzy Korony and Sokol Mount and other peaks of Pieniny Mountains. The time spent on the raft will definitely remain imprinted in the memory.
